The Madness of the God King

The Madness of the God King by Ben Riddlebarger

I once saw a photograph on Facebook a couple years ago with a strong man in a swim suit pushing his friend in a wheelchair toting assault rifles and they were both happy and seemed to not have a care in the world. It was so strange and weird that of course I needed to draw it.

I based this drawing off of that. It morphed into a religious satire of this crazy world we currently are living in.

You can take it anyway you want…

Drawing Bible Verses- Daniel in the Lion’s Den- Daniel 6

Daniel in the lion's den

Daniel 6:16-23  The King gave the order, and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den. The king said to Daniel, “May your God, whom you serve continually, rescue you!”

A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel’s situation might not be changed…

At the first light of dawn, the king got up and hurried to the lions’ den. When he came near the den, he called to Daniel in an anguished voice, “Daniel, servant of the living God, has your God, whom you serve continually, been able to rescue you from the lions?”

Daniel answered, “May the king live forever! My God sent his angel, and he calmed the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.”

The king was overjoyed and gave orders to let Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was led from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God.

Drawing Bible Verses- The Tale of Ren and Stimpy Genesis 4

   Genesis 4

Adam and Eve had two sons, Ren and Stimpy.

Stimpy kept flocks, and Ren worked the soil.  One day, they both brought an offering to God. God liked Stimpy’s gifts much more than Ren’s. This totally pissed Ren off and he turned his face away from God.

God then said to Ren, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast?  If you do what is right I will like you.  But if you don’t then sin is crouching at your door; it desires you, but you must rule over it.”

A few days later Ren took Stimpy out into the field and crushed his skull. God then screamed out to Ren, “Where is your brother Stimpy?”

“I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”

The Lord said, “What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground. 11 Now you are under a curse and driven from the ground, which opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand. When you work the ground, it will no longer yield its crops for you. You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.”

Ren said to the Lord, “My punishment is more than I can bear.  Today you are driving me from the land, and I will be hidden from your presence; I am now a criminal and anyone who sees me will try to kill me.”

But the Lord said to him, “Not so, anyone who kills Ren will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Ren so that no one who found him would kill him. So Ren went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod, east of Eden.
